Dogs and Cats in public places

Dogs and Cats in public places

The current rules relating to both dogs and cats could be about to change - there's a Discussion Paper on Shaping Banyule and a survey for you to give feedback - to be completed by 12 May.  Follow the link below for these.

The rules about Dog walking, and whether Cats will be allowed to roam, may change significantly as a result of this consultation, so if this is something you are interested in have your say by filling in the survey, or making a submission by letter or email.  As with all Banyule’s consultations doing those things is important for your comments to be on the record.  You can also go to one of the drop in information sessions; and let the Councillors know what is important to you.

There will be 3 drop in sessions:  Bellfield Community Hub Wednesday 24 April 10.30-12md; Greensborough Services Centre Wednesday 1 May 4pm-7pm; and Wednesday 8 May 4pm-7pm at the Ivanhoe Library.  See the Shaping Banyule page for more information.

For even more information  go to the Agenda papers and minutes of the meeting of 18 March; watch the Council meeting of that date (Item 6.1) when 7 members of the public spoke against the motion and one spoke for it (link below: fast forward about 1 hr 44 min into the meeting); and go to the Shaping Banyule page via the link below.
