Eaglemont 50 Years Ago

How long before panoramas in our neighbourhood are dominated by apartment towers?
Eaglemont 50 Years Ago
Will our grandchildren ever enjoy a rope swing in a backyard tree?

‌                                                              BLUE HARRIS TRAIN NEAR MARSHALL STREET IVANHOE‌‌‌‌

Eaglemont 50 years ago - a blue Harris train (destination: Princes Bridge) between Eaglemont and Ivanhoe approaching the Marshall Street railway crossing. (Weston Langford photo, 03.01.1973.) (Courtesy Nilss)

Lighting is poor for the train photo but the Eaglemont dusk skyline is clear.

‌‌‌‌Nice view of Mt Eagle in the background.

Look at the horizon - no second story extensions breaking up the tree line. ‌‌‌‌A lot has changed in those 50 years.

What does the next 50 years hold in store?

Will Eaglemont and Ivanhoe be recognisable to our grandchildren "going to see where Granny and Poppa used to live"?

Will they be able to find the spot where Poppa built the swing in the tree?

Where they did the Easter Egg hunt with Granny?
