IGGS Year 4 Planting 2023
An excited team of IGGS Year 4 students has helped our local environment by fundraising for Australian native plants to put in along the rail corridor.
The students were formed into 5 groups, nominated a local bird totem, collected their allocated box of seedlings, then located their allotted planting zones.
Some Friends of Eaglemont Village volunteers came along to offer assistance with the planting techniques.
The planting area was taped off along the Sherwood Road side.
The final plant was put in by Miss Cameron - a commemorative banksia was planted to be visible from the roadside in years to come.
At the end of the planting the students walked further along Sherwood Road to visit the Fairy Garden.
One project team in the class problem/solution task wants to create some public spaces artwork to add some interest to the walks leading to the Fairy Garden.
