Important update regarding John Walkley

It is with great regret that I write to inform all Friends of Eaglemont Village members that our President John Walkley unexpectedly passed away on Saturday morning (11/11/2023).

His sudden passing has shocked many of the Friends I have been able to contact so far and our sympathies go out to his immediate family: Bronwyn and James as well as his extended family.

John’s dynamism throughout the past few years in setting up our Friends group has done so much to inspire community effort into transforming the overgrown, weed infested bush around the Eaglemont Station.  His leadership and efforts at social inclusion will be sadly missed but I know the community will rally around to continue his work.

John had already written some articles for this weeks newsletter which I will publish, along with this abbreviated Dogs of Eaglemont feature below.

I urge you all to give an extra pat to all the dogs of Eaglemont as you encounter them, as John is no longer here to do it himself.
