Media Gets Public Toilet Figures So Wrong

Public toilets need to be accessible to everyone
Media Gets Public Toilet Figures So Wrong
Public toilets need not be expensive architectural award winners - nor inside sports clubrooms.

I eagerly read this Age article assuming it would get to the bottom of some public toilet issues.

Taj Mahal style constructions are not necessary.

Eyebrows raised dramatically to read a table placing Banyule in the top echelon of metropolitan loo providers!

Not to my knowledge - even Banyule acknowledges its own provisioning leaves a lot to be desired.

Banyule says 56, The Age credits 86! Banyule 'fesses up to poor distribution

There is then the problem that many public toilets are inside facilities that are locked when not staffed - sports facilities only open at practice sessions and match days, public buildings not open Sundays etc.

In an era when medical advances give us longer active lives with poorer bladder control, and lifesaving surgery leaves people with colostomy bags, we need more access to public toilets.

Including at railway stations..........

Note the open door - the cleaner is in action. She is the most frequent visitor to this facility, the PSOs have their own toilet!
