Hello everyone
It’s National Volunteer Week – a perfect opportunity to thank you and
all the dedicated Station Volunteers for the wonderful work you do to
beautify station precincts across Victoria.
The work you do making stations a welcoming place enhances the travel
experience for both locals on their daily commute and tourists visiting
our regional areas. Regional stations in particular are often the
gateway to a town and arriving at an attractive station precinct must
surely leave a lasting good impression.
Station Volunteers also epitomise the theme of this year’s National
Volunteer Week – Connecting Communities. Each Station Volunteer group
provides meaningful community connection for members, which is just as
important as the beautification work.
I know that many of you have that much needed cuppa and chat after your
working bee, creating new social connections. I always appreciate this
when I come out to visit your working bees.
