This newsletter is a bit longer than usual. Scroll down for a report on the AGM; information about a farewell to Mary and George; several items about going electric and climate change; evidence that king parrots visit Eaglemont occasionally; October is Seniors' Festival month, and finally, Dogs of Eaglemont.
Our Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday 27 September
Thanks to Stephen L and Carol for hosting the meeting. The meeting was attended by 12 members and President Steve Cullen, Secretary Mike Fittall and Treasurer Brett Barclay were all re-elected. Other Committee members are Pippa Griffith, Stephen Lake and Sally Trotter. Thanks to Liz D for her time on the Committee, she has retired from the Committee.
It would be very helpful if more people could take out paid membership, at only $10 a year. We are all unpaid volunteers, but we do have administration, insurance and plant costs. Membership can be paid (preferably) on-line, or by cash payment to a member of the Committee.
Closure of the Post Office on 30 September
We are very sad to be saying Farewell to Mary and George (and to the Post Office/Newsagency)
Last day of trading Tuesday 30 September. However, Mary and George will be in the Eaglemont Cellars on Sunday 19 October 2-5pm for farewell drinks.
It would be very helpful to the Cellars, so they can ensure appropriate staffing, if you could please indicate if you plan to be there on Sunday 19th in the afternoon. Please email us on eaglemontvoice@outlook.com to let us know.
