News around the Village
Both the bulk food store and the motor mechanic's workshop have been leased, which is great news as we will shortly be welcoming new businesses to Eaglemont.
We have been getting disturbing reports of cars being broken into, while parked at home, and things stolen from them. So this is a reminder to please stay safe, remove anything important from your cars when you leave them, and make sure you are safe at home too.
Can you please support us, by ....
- donating plants, funds or taking out membership of $10 a year.
We need to do some replacement planting after the long dry summer, as well as more infill between our established plants, so can you help by donating some plants? Please keep any plants to ground cover or understorey (less than 2m high) and preferably drought tolerant.
Council has a buy-one-get-one-free scheme for indigenous plants - that means they grow naturally in this area so are suited to our conditions. Follow this link to apply for a voucher (1 per household each financial year) https://www.banyule.vic.gov.au/Waste-environment/Environment-sustainability/Sustainability-and-stewardship/Indigenous-plants-voucher-program
We are all volunteers and keep expenses to a minimum, but we do have some ongoing administrative costs, so if you are able to spare $10 for our annual membership please consider doing that to support our work.

Congratulations to the Heidelberg Historical Society!
Winner of the 2024 History Interpretation award for the Back to School: A History of Local Schools in Heidelberg 1851-2000. Time is running out to see this exhibition as it closes in May. Only $5, free to members.
