Newsletter of 24 December 2023

Hello,
This is our final newsletter for 2023.  This newsletter includes articles by Bronwyn with news of the Coroner's finding, by Liz D about the wonderful transformation of the Sherwood Road/Ashby Grove area over time, complete with photos, Christmas reading by Brett (the Mattock) Barclay, and a report about the Public Toilet debate at council by Marcus Wigan, and we thank them for their contributions.

We would be grateful for some help over the summer :

  • please water the plants as you are walking along the rail line - there are crates of water bottles at several points
  • please also refill the bottles if you are able to
  • working bee on Saturday 6 Jan 9.30 - 11.  Assemble at 43 A Sherwood Rd.  Coffee in the Village afterwards.

Changes for 2024:

  • - the Newsletter will be sent on the last Sunday of the month, and will include more articles from various authors.  Please let us know if you would like to contribute.  There will still be additional newsletters if there is something important happening.
  • a working bee on the first Saturday of each month, and the first one will be on Saturday 6 Jan (see above).

There is also a regular Sit and Sew meeting at 2 pm on the first Thursday of each month (not January), in The Dish.  First meeting 2 February.

We hope everyone has a very safe and Happy Christmas and New Year holiday season, and we'll see you around the Village soon.

Stephen and Pippa
