Hello, a lot has happened in the last month (including Fish and Chips being available in Eaglemont again) and a lot more happening soon, so here's a summary of what you will find in this Newsletter.   Scroll down for:

Coming Up:

Information sessions for the Heidelberg Activity Centre plans - 28 and 29 May Scroll down for more details and other information.  This is important because it affects Eaglemont too.

Last chance to see the Award winning Back to School Exhibition - Heidelberg Historical Society Exhibition has been extended.  So if you were meaning to go but didn't get there you now have a few more Sunday afternoons to choose from.  The last day of this award winning exhibition will now be Sunday 15 June.

The Ivanhoe Home-grown produce swap is happening again on Saturday 14 June and 12 July at ILCH.  10.30-12.  It was well attended last month and there was some fantastic produce.

Plans for the Heidelberg Activity Centre include Eaglemont - tell the government what is important to you

The state government is consulting the public about their plans for Activity Centres, including Heidelberg.  Much of Eaglemont is potentially affected (see the map below copied from Engage Victoria website).  You can tell them what is important to you about Heidelberg - feedback closes on 15 June.

There's a drop-in session on 28 May at the Heidelberg Golf Club, 8 Main Rd, Lower Plenty 3.30-7.30 and an on-line one 29 May - more info below.

If you live outside the area of the map and are concerned about what may happen in Heidelberg you can give feedback too.

This is the area of consultation for the Heidelberg Activity Centre

Follow this link for the survey https://engage.vic.gov.au/activity-centres-program and the link below to register for an online session where you can find out more and ask questions (Thursday 29 May 6.30-7.30 pm online):

National Volunteer Week

We were nominated for a Community group award at the Banyule Volunteer dinner and celebration on Wednesday.  The group was represented by Steve Cullen (President), Mike Fittall (Secretary), Committee members Sally Trotter and Pippa Griffith and volunteer supporter Jane Crone.  We received a certificate recognising our nomination, and were fortunate to be considered as there were many very worthy groups nominated.  Banksia Palliative Care won the 'Community Group or Initiative' Award, and we congratulate them and the Highly Commended U3A Banyule.

We also congratulate all the other nominees and winners.  Over 75 groups across a wide range of disciplines were there on the night, but there are many others who were not represented.  These numbers really demonstrate how significant volunteers are in making things better in so many areas.  Heartfelt thanks from us to all who do so much for others.
