Newsletter Sunday 26 April 2026

Please Note:

While I take a break there will be no Newsletter at the end of May, however there may be updates about urgent issues.  Also, no last-Wednesday working bees in May or June although the 3rd-Saturday ones will continue.

Coming Up:

  • Wed 29 April, Working Bee at Ryder Cheshire Homes, 10-14 Donaldson St Ivanhoe.  Meet there at 9.30
  • Thursday 7 May, Meet Up and Make It craft group, from 1.30 pm in The Dish.  All welcome - bring a project or some mending, or just come for the great company!
  • Saturday 17 May, Working Bee.  9.30 start, meet at 43a Sherwood Rd.
  • Thursday 4 June, Meet Up and Make It craft group, from 1.30 pm in The Dish.  All welcome - bring a project or some mending, or just come for the great company!
  • Saturday 21 June, Working Bee.  9.30 start, meet on Alandale Rd opposite Wimbledon Grove.

A Big WELCOME to the Creative Community Space - the Fabric ReStore

This shop recycles donated fabrics and sewing supplies and has relocated from East Ivanhoe to the old Post Office/Newsagent (which was most recently an op shop).  They usually accept donations of unwanted fabrics etc to stop them being sent to landfill, but donations are paused for the moment.  See the invitation to their Re-Opening on Saturday 2 May 2026 below.

This, together with the Artisan's Hub and the Art Shop, not forgetting our own group (Meet Up and Make It - first Thursday of the month, 1.30 in The Dish), Eaglemont is becoming something of a craft hub.

Council news:

May will be a busy month with Council consultations, and as I'm taking a break I will be unable to keep you up to date.  Visit https://shaping.banyule.vic.gov.au/ to find out what is happening.

My, how things have changed!  A butcher, baker, cake shop and newsagent!  We do still have a cake shop of sorts in The Dish (great cakes), but sadly the others are no more.  And what about the cars?!
