Busy Bee Quilt on display 2 August
This 'signature' quilt from 1895-96, which is in the Heidelberg Historical Society's collection, will be on display at the Heidelberg Scots Uniting Church between 1 and 4 pm on Sunday 2 August. The occasion is the 125th anniversary of the Church building and the quilt was created by a "Busy Bee" group as a fundraiser for the church. All welcome to the free event.
Recycle your empty chip packets!
These (opened out, washed and dried before donation) are being transformed into thermal survival blankets for homeless people by the Foil Fusion program run by Rosanna Fire Station Community House. You can find out more information on this link https://chippacketprojectmelbourne.com/ Volunteers do this work at 10am on Mondays. This great cause also helps the environment by diverting the packets from landfill.

Council consultations
Responding to Climate Change - Community Climate Resilience Plan: This draft plan includes how council will respond to extreme weather events as well as what it is doing to lower emissions. Your experiences of extreme weather can provide valuable lessons and they want to know what you think of the draft plans. There are two new online information sessions (Mon 3 and Tues 4 Aug 6-7.30 pm). The link to register, and for more information and the survey is at the end of this section. The Survey closes 12 August. Community Engagement Policy and Toolkit: Council want your help to make sure their engagement is clear, fair and easy to take part in, so want to know how it can be improved. The link to more information and the survey is at the end of this section. Survey closes 9 August - you can choose between a quick survey and a more detailed, slightly longer one and paper copies are available on request.
Road and Place Naming Policy: Ever wondered how places and roads get their names? Council has a policy they'd like your input into, and are holding an information session at the library on Thursday 30 July from 6-8 pm. The link to more information and the survey is below. Survey closes 16 August.
