More than 130 blue trains daily, then along comes a canary yellow one!

There are some small boys at Eaglemont who are fascinated by our frequent 6 carriage sets passenger trains.

One of our frequent passenger trains newly visible through the clearing work done by Equity Trustees volunteers in May.

They would have been spellbound by the sight and sound of Southern Shorthaul Railway's (SSR) heavy haulage locomotives passing through Eaglemont on June 5th.

SSR provides a haulage service in the rail networks for the ballast, sleeper, rail delivery trains and reclamation of ‘fouled ballast’ spoil trains.

SSR also undertakes the heavy haulage of specialised infrastructure maintenance equipment.

This type of equipment includes ballast cleaners, track laying machines, tampers and specialised wagons loaded with track panels and associated machinery.

Occaisionally we get a nostalgic moment as a steam train thunders through Eaglemont
