Public toilet plan adopted
At the meeting last Monday night (11 December) Council adopted the proposed Public Toilet Plan, with a couple of amendments. As a result Council will be advocating to the State government for the provision of toilets at Eaglemont station.
I spoke against the motion and said if the advocacy had not been successful after 12 months then Council should commit to providing a toilet anyway. Councillor McKern moved an additional amended motion about exploring this option, which was supported by Councillors Castaldo, Garotti and Mayor Melican. Unfortunately this amendment was lost as it was not supported by the other 5 Councillors. Marcus Wigan also spoke against the motion.
