Update: 2 important consultations closing this week
Thanks to Mary V for reminding us of the draft Community Local Law 2025 which is on Shaping Banyule for feedback, closing this coming Saturday 31st. There is also a feedback request from the State Government, Help us Shape Victoria's future. This is a chance to influence State Government thinking and it closes on Friday 30th.
More information about each of these, and links to the surveys, below:
Banyule Community Local Law 2025 covers all sorts of things - The Local Law aims to ensure safety and amenity for all people who live, work and visit Banyule. It regulates things such as overhanging vegetation, footpath trading and the protection of Council assets.
The new Local Law includes enhanced controls around construction sites, behaviour on Council land and impacts on neighbourhood amenity (Shaping Banyule).
It includes things like: 6.6 Planting on Nature Strips [New]

- a) plant any tree or vegetation on; or
- b) carry out works which alters the appearance of –
a nature strip being Council Land.
