Update: planning news from East Ivanhoe; and Council Elections

Emergency Community meeting

Save Ivanhoe East are holding a meeting on Monday 14 October, 6.30-7.30 at St Georges Anglican Church on Warncliffe Rd.

They have two significant Court cases pending:

  • TLC has appealed to VCAT for 321 Lower Heidelberg Rd/1 Maltravers Rd - this is the site of the old Uniting Church near the Burke Road North roundabout, one of the gateways to Eaglemont.
  • Denali Nominees has appealed to the Supreme Court for 287 Lwr Heidelberg Rd (the residential property the other side of the laneway from the commercial zone in East Ivanhoe).  The vet has applied to build a new clinic on this site.

Our neighbourhood and community are at risk again of inappropriate development - Save Ivanhoe East can use any support you can give them.

Council Elections

are happening now and will be a postal ballot - you should receive a ballot paper in the next few days if you are on the electoral role.  If it hasn't arrived by early next week get in touch with the Victorian Electoral Commission at vec.vic.gov.au.

Voting is compulsory if you are enrolled to vote - the completed forms must be in the mail before 6 pm on Friday 25 October 2024.  You can also take them to the Banyule electoral office at VEC Banyule Elections Office, F3/25-31 Sherbourne Road, Briar Hill 3088 before 6 pm on 25 October.

We may not know the results until 11 November when counting will have been completed.
