Update: Heritage Day this Sunday - FoEV wildflower walk; Council stuff

Reminder: working bee Saturday 10 August - meet at 1pm, 43A Sherwood Rd.

This Sunday 11 August is Heritage Day in the Village, complete with Red Rattler train trips.

Friends of Eaglemont Village have designed a free wildflower walk for children 8-16.  We have been supported to do this by a grant from Australia Post (thanks to George and Mary for nominating us for a second year). Starting just after the 11 am train leaves. Sign up on the day at the Heritage Rail ticket box - all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Council stuff: On Monday night (5 August) Council adopted the Housing and Neighbourhood Character Strategies with some amendments to the Housing Strategy proposed by Cr Alida McKern.  Cr McKern represents Chelsworth ward, map below.  The amendments include a change from 'increased change' to 'incremental change' for some streets in Ivanhoe and Eaglemont.

d) In the Housing Change map show residential boundaries which are outside the Ivanhoe Major Activity Centre boundary and on Green St, Dudley Street, Langs Road, Ashby Grove, Townsend Street, Rotherwood Road, Thoresby Grove, Maltravers Road, Silverdale Road and Dick Street Ivanhoe identified as ‘increased change’ as ‘incremental change’. (Extract from the resolution at Item 6.1 from the minutes of the Council Meeting).
